How come my phone will not connect to store wi-fi on auto

The other smart phones i had would all ways Connect to store wi-fi on auto now with the phone i have I got to do it manual go to phone settings for it to get the wi-fi. By phone always has the wi-fi setting on .I do this to save on phone data.

Sometimes it happens... If the phone detects many wifi connections, it need us to select one and connect manually

What phone is it? Normally we just turn on WiFi function and it will automatically detect it. Maybe you should look more into the setting to see what's wrong.
