Have You Ever Visited Florida?

I’m sure that many of you have visited Florida, but I was looking through one of my journals and came across some information about the freshwater springs that abound in Florida. Did you know that the world’s biggest concentration of freshwater springs are in Florida. Over 700 springs. Have you ever visited any of these springs? We visited Weeki Wachee Springs State Park and Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park. I had also noted that over 84 million people visit Florida every year. There is so much to see in Florida. In addition to Walt Disney World, there is Key West, the southernmost tip on the U.S. Be sure to visit Hilton Pier, where you will see many artists and cats jumping through hoops of fire. St. Augustine, Florida is the oldest continually occupied city in the U.S. We have been all over the state of Florida. There is so much to see. I don’t care for Florida in the summer however. It’s way too hot for me. I like to go in February. It’s less crowded and rental rates are lower if you are going to be staying at a hotel or condo. We have relatives there so we stay with them. They are always glad to accommodate us for as long as we want to stay. We have family in Melbourne, so we have watched lift-offs from the beach from Cape Canaveral also.

I am at our home in Ocala right now and wee went to Ravine Gardens State Park in Palatka a couple weeks ago. Did Homosassa and Weeki Wachee last year and Kanahapa Gardens in Gainesville. Plenty of things to see and do.

@BelleStarr Oh, I'm sorry. I hope he is managing well. I didn't realize that cold weather would be a problem for someone with Parkinson's but it makes sense, because of poor circulation, I'm sure.

HOW NICE for you to be in Florida during the colder weather in Connecticut. I used to go down every winter and stay with my sis-in-law for a few weeks, but haven't been in several years now.

While I'd like to see a launch, Florida doesn't have any great appeal. I'm not a beach person and it is mostly far too hot for me

Winter in Florida is nice, but the summertime is way too hot for me also. I'm not a beach person either, but there is so much to do in Florida. I've always enjoyed my visits.

I was born in Tampa, Florida and love Weeki Wachee . We had a spring near our home that we swam in.

My sis-in-law lives in Spring Hill. She has picked me up at the Tampa airport a couple times. I used to go down every winter and stay a few weeks with her. W0W! Swimming in Spring water must be so refreshing.

I love it here in Florida. It's been grand and I've visited all over the state. I haven't made it to St. Augustine yet. That will have to be fixed! I was there many years ago, just driving through and taking a quick tour but I've always meant to go back.

@Jeanniemaries Oh dear. I hope you are getting assistance in repairing your roof and water damage. So many houses and businesses have been damaged. It will be a long time before everything is repaired, I'm sure.

@IreneVincent No, I wasn't. I did lose most of the shingles of my roof and there is water damage to the structure.
