Sorry folks, need a quick rant. I am curre tly in training for this new discipline at work that requires a bit of learning. I am, with another coworker, being trained by a more senior employee. Anyway since we are training together, I am with this other coworker for 8 hours per day. His arrogance and know-it-all-ness is driving me up the wall. I like to think I am patient and tolerant but....not with him. When you are learnig something new - how can you pretend you know it all? For example, I will ask out trainer a question and this guy will start yammering on what he think is right. Another example is when the trainer gives us chances to practice or do some other learning experience, this pompous guy goes "no thanks, Im good, ill be fine." This drives me crazy. We are on like day 6 or 7 of training. Theres no way he knows everything to know already. Agh. Do you work with someone like this?

No, but I have a brother who is exactly as you describe. Be glad it is not a family member and you can get away from them at the end of the day. lol

I gotcha on this. I am a truck driver, and it seems every damned pro driver out there thinks he's the one they meant when they mention King of the Road. We usually drive alone, but training can be common with new jobs and routes, or a different or specialized requirement, such as having a forklift. This means you could be with someone who, perhaps, doesn't know everything about this, but they know everything else. And the stories? There I was...
