No, I'm not talking about young women rising from a bed, a chair, or from the floor. Silly you!
Our future daughter-in-law was featured in Young Women Rising, a government organization, whose mission is to encourage leadership among young women ages 18 - 35 within the political process, workplace, and community.
She was givien such a lovely write up.
I'm a proud mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, as well as future mother-in-law!!!! Be still my heart!

She was a former drama teacher at Cooperative Arts and Humanities High School, and is currently volunteering at Collective Consciousness Theather as writer, artistic director, producer for an all black company, and is the Director of Education at a very famous theater, where she inspires hundreds of young people every year, and uses theater as a tool for social change. And much, much more. Thank you!

What a great honor to be featured like that! I'm sure you are very proud of her, and I'm sure she is flattered at the complement. But I'm willing to bet that she doesn't do all those things for the recognition, I bet she does it because she has a caring heart!

@DianneN Not to take away from her accomplishments, but I think everybody should be like her. It's the right thing to do as humans. And just think...the world would be a better place, and then there would be no more need for special accolades in magazines! But, since most humans aren't like her, it's nice that we can recognize the ones who stand out above and beyond the rest!

@moffittjc Both she and my daughter in law have been recognized for their many contributions. It all comes from simple compassion for others. Not everyone has the time, nor interest, in doing things like that. It would certainly make the world a better place.

@DianneN I love the dynamics in your family! Every time I read of your interaction with your family members, I feel there is hope in this world. And even though it may not be perfect, I still think it's a good example of how humans ought to treat each other. Thank you for reinforcing that beautiful image for me. I am close to despair to thinking that people have forgotten how to live 'as people'. Honestly, it nice to read about your family.
