I cut up a chicken tonight

There's only two of us eating at home and I am the head cook, as I cook more than the other. Fresh whole chicken is way cheaper than the cut up ones so I buy a whole chicken and cut it up to several pieces. I apportioned this one into 2. One was marinated and frozen, for a meal on Sunday, and the other portion was for dinner tonight, of which I cooked it Chicken Tinola, or chicken stew. The hubby appreciated it and had several servings. How do you buy your chicken, fresh, cooked? Sliced or whole? How do you cook it?

When I cooked for my son I would sometimes get a whole chicken and bake it. Then I would prepare it in various ways for his dinner during the week. He was the only one eating - I am vegetarian.
