Happy Friday! To celebrate here's another one of my favorite songs that has a day of the week in the title. This started so promising: a "Sunday" song on Sunday, a "Monday" song on Monday....then everything went off the calendar. No worries, here's a classic song that sounds good any day of the week. #5: Tuesday Afternoon - Moody Blues Probably the most obvious song in the countdown. (Maybe #1 is as obvious.). Plus, the Moodies are my brother's favorite band, so I wasn't about to leave them out!! There are crimes against musical humanity, and the fact that the Moody Blues have never been nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is near the top of the list. With the album that contained this song, Days of Future Passed, the Moodies more or less created progressive rock (prog-rock). And, while other prog rock bands have made it to the Hall of Shame the Moody Blues haven't. Of course, if they ever get nominated they will make it. They have sold more records than two of last year's inductees combined. Their influence (spearheading concept/thematic albums and,as previously mentioned, prog rock) is still felt in music. They'll get their dues one day. Meanwhile, enjoy this 50-year-old classic that still sounds fresh today.
