Where did I leave that mouse?

I've been searching all day but I can't find my mouse. I was so sure I left it under the sofa chair. I checked on Friday afternoon and it was maturing nicely, but when I came back to check on it today it was gone!
There were a couple of white, wriggly bugs on the floor, but my nice smelly mouse is nowhere to be found. Mama wouldn't let me play with the wriggly bugs and she carried me off to the bathroom while she cleaned them away. She said something about the smelly mess she found under the couch and that I have to stop leaving my toys in the living room.
The other small humans do it all the time so why can't I? I shall just have to go and find another one and this time I will stash it somewhere that she can't find it!

Well now Slyph, you did a great job with that mouse.. you shouldn't hide your toys though. You see when you hide them too long those white squiggly bugs will steal them. Mom was just trying to defend your toy from them.. I think you should go find more. That's what pretty kitties do best!

Dear Morpheus - are we talking about real mice here or those cute little catnip-filled ones I play with? I've never had a real or smelly mouse. Luv, Mildred the Cat.
