Dukester Had Breakfast In Bed

This morning when I took Duke's breakfast to him ... he didn't come out of his 'cocoon'. I've turned his kennel cab into a soft, thick cocoon on the inside ... outside.
The cocoon is full of thick, soft blankets that I take out every few days to shake, refold, put back inside. The outside is 'wrapped' in a thick blanket, and a thick downy comforter, and a weatherproof/windproof quilted covering. It holds so much heat from Duke's body heat.
Duke has a 'winter' house ... the cocoon ... and his 'summer' house ... the dog house full of cedar shavings and also, is covered with a weatherproof covering.
His kennel has 3-layer deep canvas curtains I roll up, roll down as needed. The top is covered with a heavy-duty tarp. All sits in my parking place under the shed
where it never gets wet. The floor is covered in thick, soft cedar shavings.
This is the best I can do until one day hopefully ... I can 'blend' him into our house with our other two dogs. I don't like for one of my beloved Pups to live 'outside'. I have to for now to avoid a tragedy if all 3 dogs are put together. All three are big, strong, dominant dogs. All three are precious to Skip and I.
This morning I was tickled when Duke came out of his cocoon for a minute and disappeared. He ran back into his warm cocoon! I simply took his breakfast to him ... Duke ate breakfast in bed!
Photo of Dukester is him 'talking' to me! I love this wonderful photo. Photo/story are owned by Gloria Faye Brown Bates/aka Granny Gee.
