NBA Nielsen ratings are tanking in 2017?

I can take what Fox Sports 1 personality Colin Cowherd says about his employer ESPN as the gospel or with a grain of Morton's salt since on his television show that airs on Fox Sports 1.
Cowherd is reporting the news that the Disney owned networks ABC Sports and ESPN have seen a nosedive of the National Basketball Association (NBA) games in the Neilsen ratings.
Cowherd believes that the one reason the ratings of the NBA basketball game are lower this year than last year is that some of the superstar basketball players are engaged in discussing politics instead of doing their work as basketball players.
Cowherd reported on his television show on Monday that ESPN officials are extremely angry that the coaches of the Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs rested their star players on a basketball game on Saturday evening in San Antonio in a basketball game that was televised on ABC Sports.
Gee whiz Cowherd next time I hear a sports star say "They are entertainers and why should the fan raise a fuss that movie stars and musical artists get paid a huge salary to perform."
The answer is simple silly. Unless the musical artist or motion picture that is supposed to play in town cannot make an appearance due to illness or death in the family, the artist or movie will be a heck of a lot more entertaining that watching the sports star who cannot keep his mouth shut of sensitive issues step on toes of the average Joe who wants to spend their hard earned money on being entertained and not being lectured.
Got that ESPN Sports Center anchors? Don't lecture me on whose I should choose to be on my Wordgirl All Star Basketball team known as The Lexiconian World Travelers.

Gene Simoons of KISS has said that celebrities should do their work and quit discussing politics on their shows.

@KrauseHome I am just saying I can see my next door neighbors play basketball across the street for free in a playground across my sister's rental home.

Personally I have not had the desire or want to watch NBA myself now for yrs. It is nothing like what it used to be and does not have the proess and stamina either. It has become too much about the $$ and wins over how great a player can be. Give me back some Larry Bird Magic Johnson Ewing and Michael Jordan, and now we can talk Basketball and the NBA

Me too since the Bird vs Johnson era of basketball was great. Today it is pretty boys with huge egos of telling us their political viewpoints. Sorry kids election time is over. Go back to bed and play with your dolls.
