Malaysia bans "Beauty And The Beast" movie

It appears that the upcoming movie "Beauty And The Beast" will not be seen in the nation of Malaysia since the Disney studios have decided not to cut out from the movie a four minute what is being called "a gay moment" by chairman Adbul Halim.
Okay I do remember in some of the Three Stooges video shorts but I forget which video it is when Moe was dancing with Shemp or Larry in one of the western videos and no one screamed "a gay moment" about it.
You can take what Abdul Halim says "It is inappropriate because many children will be watching this movie."
The movie would have been shown in Malaysia if Disney had decided to remove the four minute segment from the movie but since Disney refused to do so the Malaysian Censorship Board decided to ban the film.
Actor Josh Gad who plays the role of LaFou said it was " subtle". Gee whiz Disney the laws in Malaysia forbids homosexual activities.
I am sure all of this free publicity will have the fans of the movie go see the film over four minutes of two males dancing.
Final words of advice to actor Ewan McGregor who was on the The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.
The words of advice are as the clone Superman told the Metropolis police officer was going to use cuss words at him after his gun was melted by Superman's heat vision "Watch the language."

I wonder if any other Muslim nations will ban the movie. I know some Fundamentalist Christian sects here in the US are urging people to boycott the film. I feel sure that if it was two women dancing no one here in the US would bat an eye.

That is true. I remember in the movie "Rocky III" when Apollo Creed who plays Rocky's trainer kisses Paulie who is Rocky's brother in law on the cheek during the boxing scenes and no one complained even it was in an act of excitement.

@Deepizzaguy I need to get someone to go with me. My husband just gave me a funny look when I said I wanted to see it. Maybe the idea will grow on him.

@Tampa_girl7 No problem. The reason I have no plans to see the movie is if it is the cartoon version which I have in my DVD collection why see the remake?

It is not a total ban. The date was postponed because of those rumours. Last I heard it will be released in Malaysia, but not rated U, probably.
I do think it is just a gimmick to utilize those four minutes. I was looking forward to watching Emma Watson. I like her character Hermione in Harry Potter.

Shame Malaysia has a homophobic government with nothing better to do than ban cartoons

I guess I know that a lot of my ebooks won't be on sale there. They have a lot of homosexual relationships between women. Oh well. :P
Well, you know what they say about infamy. I'm sure banning it is a sure way to get more people to watch it!

The curious factor will sell the movie. Believe me I know what it feels.

@Deepizzaguy I still like the cartoon movie, so I doubt I will be seeing this one any time soon.

This is news to me. i don't really care what Malaysia choose as their benchmark to 'ban' but burying your head in the sand doesn't help things. I seem to remember a long dance with Sherlock Homes and his buddy Dr. Watson in each other arms. I didn't hear of any banning of 'Sherlock Homes 11'. Did you?
