Could you live in an RV?

We are considering a move into a class A motorhome for a few years. We are living in a rental house right now and I would rather be paying the rent to myself. There is no use in buying a house right now though since we are only here in California for another year while my hubby finishes up his job. After that we are back to Utah where we will eventually buy a house and settle back down.
Do you think an RV would be tough for that long? There are four of us with my two teenage kids.

It would be challenging with four people but I think if you had to you could make due with it. It sure would save you a lot of money and it is only for a year. I would seriously consider it. What does the rest of your family think of the idea?

My daughter hates the idea but she is an emotional young girl who hates a lot of things just for the fun of it. My son is concerned about the internet connections and his video gaming but otherwise not against it. My hubby is all for the idea of saving money and getting us out of debt so he can retire soon but he is gone 14 hours a day with work and the drive. Really it should be okay either way, it just feels like a huge decision and its so tough to see the possible disasters that could come up.

@happythoughts I can understand you son's concerns being a teenager and your daughter is just at that age. It would be something to really think about closely before making a final decision.

I might too a little bit but really I can do anything if it needs to be done. I'm just not sure how much of a sacrifice it will be.

The RV would for sure be smaller than the house we are in now. It would be the size of our living room now. Its a sacrifice but one that will save us $2500 a month. I just don't want it to be a huge disaster that causes us to fight. Right now we are doing well and having a lot of fun but we spend most of our time out of the house. I assume that living in the RV would be the same. We would sleep, eat and study there but the rest of the time we would be exploring.
