From my bathroom window I have a lovely view of the neighboring house's roof. The b-vent style metal chimney has been quietly rusting away for years. Then, in last week's gale force winds, the top blew off. Now I see that it has been repaired, and it looks like the new piece was attached with duct tape! Red Green would be proud.

It is incredible what you can do with duct tape

. Personally I have some skill with electric staplers and silicone sealants
