Right after waking up I went to the nearest ATM to get my mom's pension. There was an old lady over there like she was waiting for some one.
But when I was done, she suddenly asked for my help and even called the guard stupid because he didn't know how to help her. Turns out she didn't know how to withdraw her pension on the ATM. I did most of the work though and she got her money and thanked me.
At back I was doubting if she owns the card, but it looked new and the password is six digits not four.
My mistake was that I forgot to advised her to bring a family member she could trust or she would have end up getting robbed.
Anyways that's something I did good this morning.

I get my mom's pension too and usually there's a senior who can't withdraw by themselves. Usually the guard of the banks help them out, but now I'm not sure why the security guards are not so helpful anymore... Like they don't know what to do either.

Well, the ATM is located at the 24/7 store so the guard just doesn't know anything @diosabella

@diosabella I don't know the card looks new when I checked it. She's just an old person that's it.

@Letranknight2015 I see. Usually its safer to use the atm at the bank. But still, they should be aware of these things right?

its good you have done good job today. Yesterday, I saw a man, his half body was incapable maybe because of attack that paralized his half body. He was walking along the shoulder of the road and as I see him, he was hard up to move along. I stopped my motorcycle to accompany him, I suppose, but when I get off the motorcycle, he sat down and open his snacks. I did not disturb him anymore.

Hello @ilocosboy Did he even bother to say thank you to you after helping him out? I think mine did. I think the guard was scared because it involved money.

@Letranknight2015 Actually, I was not able to help him because as soon as I stepped down in the motorcycle, he was already sitting to eat his snack.

In India they are trying to digitise money transactions as far as possible and many seniors and illiterates are having trouble with this.

that happened to me, too, years ago. i also helped a senior but both tries failed. knowing that the 3rd attempt might capture his card, i said we better ask help from the bank employees (this branch was inside the mall) so i turned him over to them.

Do you remember what happened to the senior? @hereandthere Wow not sure what would I do if she had a card problem. Glad it went easy solving her problem.

@Letranknight2015 i waited outside and saw the bank employee accompany him to the atm.
i think when you're not sure, like it's your first time to use an atm, or it's not yours but you're tasked to withdraw money, it's best to go to the bank during banking hours, so if there's a problem, you can ask for help from the employees. or one in the mall because they have extended hours/days.

there are some senior citizens who are scammers also. in the news on TV, i think you watched this- a lady stole the bag of a woman who was celebrating the birthday of her daughter; she is now on manhunt.
i hope that old lady will indeed have a relative with her when she plans to withdraw her pension next month

I don't think she was a scammer, her atm password is written all over her Senior Citizen Booklet, which is making even more dangerous to her.

@Letranknight2015 i did not say she is a scammer. i am just pointing out that there are some senior citizens who scam others. it is good you were there giving her a hand.
chivalry nowadays is so rare.

I think she gambled because it could have been a bad person @Kandae11 but lucky for her it was me.
