So song number 49 is Cotton Eye Joe by Rednex. The group is from Sweden, and has a unique sound, combining genres such as: pop, country, Eurodance, and some others. Personally, I always liked this song quite a bit.. Thought it quite catchy, maybe a bit cheesy, but still always fun, and would hear it most commonly at school dances and the such.

The song originated as a square dance song, and most of the things that the callers would say didn't make a whole lot of sense. That's why the song doesn't make any sense. There's also a lot of variations, because the regionalism predated the recording technology. I like the Freight Hoppers' version and, of course, Bob Wills' rendition. Both completely different...and different from the Rednex hit version.
