On to song 48.. Which is Everybody Hurts by R.E.M. The band was formed in Athens, Georgia, in 1980. They have been broken up for about 6 years now, but they had a strong go (from 1980 to 2011, 31 years!) A fun fact is that "REM" stands for Rapid Eye Movement (missing the s but with the s is intended for sleep) which is a unique phase of sleep, where one can dream vividly (information about REM sleep confirmed from Wikipedia).

Love that band. Saw them in 1984 at the Aloha Ballroom in Honolulu. I mentioned it to Mike Mills a couple of years ago when I saw the Baseball Project and danged if he didn't remember that show!

@mawdest -- yes, and it showed in the audience. Most of them were there to see the opening act, which was a local band, then they took off before R.E.M. got onstage.
