Is it safe to order products from AliExpress?

Hello All,
Has anyone ordered any product from AliExpress? If yes, then what is your feedback about product genuineness, quality and shipping? Is customs charge applicable on the products ordered from there and by what time a product is delivered?
I am thinking of buying some stuff however was skeptical on the above mentioned things before investing? Do let me know in case anyone has ever shopped from there or any other site like that which has good products and ships internationally.
Note: I am from India

I think you should stick to the online stores of Your country because if they scam you, they are easier to report to the cops. Alliexpress had a lot of scammy 3rd party sellers.

I have ordered for bulk items which I needed for the kids' parties I organise and I was more than satisfied dealing with them.
