Good morning my lottery and friends. Today is the Festival Ugadi, a New Year as per Hindu Calendar. I woke up at 4.30 as usual. There are no street lights. I just kept the hot water and started working on mylot. The temperature yesterday recorded was 39 deg. celsius. Do you believe it will touch about 46 degrees as per the weather forecast? Moreover, there will be fewer rains also compared to that of the previous year?. This is the direct result of the ecological imbalance for which we alone are responsible. The festival is celebrated eating some bitter gourd, some jaggery, a few Neem leaves, some pieces of Mangoes, flowers, all mixed in water, which is called Ugadi Chutney/ Pachhadi. It will be offered to the Deity and taken as PRASAD and also distributed among the family members and to the near and dear visitors. Children will be liking to have it. Not more than 1 or 2 spoons. It indicates that the year should be a combination of all tastes throughout. There will be PANCHANGA SRAVAN. The priests read the Telugu calendar explaining everything about the rainfall, expenditure, income, debts etc., that affect each type of individual. People take delight in listening to it. Praying God will be there and the dishes prepared will be offered to him and afterward family members sit together for their lunch and dinner. Evening the visitors and relatives will be there and there will beAN exchange of gifts and seek the blessings of the elders.
