New Cyber Security Laws

Should we be afraid of cyber security laws if they were to be passed? I am not sure if I want any imposing internet laws in place. On the flip side I do not not want anyone to be able to take my information.

I think Cyber Security Laws can protect us- if they figure out bad guys sharing dangerous information, or something that can cause mayhem. On the other hand, cyber experts should not single out a person, if he or she has certain political or economic ideology, or point of view(s).
