If I Were Congressman

I would introduce "The Do It Yourself Bill." I am still so bitter that the leaders of this country blamed the calamity that was set afoot by the greedy on the poor. Which would have included them. Always a scapegoat and so showed society all the wrong ways to do things,. I can only imagine how kids that were coherent enough in the 2008 time frame who did pay attention will behave in the next coming decades. Will they behave like those spoiled brats or did it turn their stomach also and make them want to do everything the opposite? My do it yourself bill would allow people to fix their houses, obviously go to school if they so desired and not to be shoved down their throat. Try their own hand in their own business with the help of local experts. Try their own hand at creating a sustainable environment where they did not have to depend on the government or corporate America. No charge to them, in fact they would get paid for trying and if their ideas worked they would get paid more. Being we could tax their idea that work and would be part of how the program would get paid. Sounds a hell of lot better than welfare and food stamps, being if you want anyone to survive in this world. They need food, clothing and shelter. You let them have to fight for that, then do not expect them to do anything else. That is 1000 times of the job over sitting in a corporate office answering phones or fancy restaurant wondering where the next casino will go. I think people forget how hard it is when they do not have the proper resources. We thrive by allowing people to make their own resources so much so they create them for everyone.

Right i feel like everyone should be given a fair chance, one of the biggest pitfalls in trying to find work is if i don't have experience i am not given a shot, why can't they let me try ona trial basis they do not have to pay me i prove my worth and then they can hire me and pay me, so many qualified people are unemployed because there not given a shot in there chosen field, it's like hello how the hell can i get experience if i am never givena chance to get experience???

Great point and tried that myself only to get because they will take advantage of you and they will. What is an intern then? So they do have a point and they also fear to leading back to slavery. Making everyone work for free for the higher ups. The problem with their logic, is a dollar a day, when things cost 10 a day is no different. Just an illusion that it is not slavery because they are actually pretending to pay people for their work. Bottom line is easy to get experience, problem is not easy to get experience when they make it about money. Always a learning curb, but not when you never give people the proper chance to do for themselves. If they screw it up, so what, that is how we all learn.

@crossbones27 Very very true, i get so frustrated as i feel it's pointless trying as i always know they see my lack of a resume and they already are not going to hire me before giving me a chance.

The rich do not realize how bad it is for the poor.

Indeed, Cory Booker tried to eat off food stamps. Think he made it a week or a month. Either way he tapped out. lol But not really funny.

Some people around the world have to fight for their lives and for things that we take for granted. I wish their stories would become public more often as they might help us appreciate what we have.

Homelessness and poor people need help. Instead, they are going out of their way to make their lives harder than they already are.
