I have a small surgery planned for tomorrow at noon. It is a cyst removal on my upper back that has caused a very painful infection. The doctor said that it was probably triggered by exercising and pressure of the upper body on the pilates mat.
The surgerical removal is planned for tomorrow at noon and I have started to feel stressed about it. I am thinking about the complications that it might have and if it is going to be successful.
How do you overcome stress when it comes to health issues?
Do you prefer to be around friends and family or spend some time alone with your thoughts?

It helped to be on mylot for a while, and take my mind off the procedure.
It is completed and I feel well considering the painful part of it, but I will have to do one more procedure soon. Thank you for the confidence, I need all the positive thoughts!

I like to be surrounded by people. Usually they talk about something else and you forget a little your health problems.

I like to be left alone so that I can wallow in my own thoughts. I've only had one surgical procedure though, so not much experience. I do tend to keep my health issues to myself though.

People have their own ways of coping with health issues. I used to be like you when I was younger, I had my appointments and I wanted to go there alone when I was about to do some tests etc. Now I appreciate my friends and family being around for emotional support.
