Does pure water keep longer time?

It just crossed my mind regarding food that can only keep for a day. More that that it gets rotten. If we look at food (canned or not) have expiry date. What about pure water? Does it?

Pure water as in mineral water? I don't think water would go bad but the plastic bottle might. The date is probably for the bottle.

food can last longer if kept in the refrigerator. i still drink tap water, but i do notice that bottled water changes taste after several days.
