A few Kentucky Wildcat fans have sent basketball referee John Higgins some nasty death threats to his home after their basketball team lost to the North Carolina Tar Heels in the Elite Eight Basketball Game on Sunday.
Some of the talk shows on television have scolded Kentucky basketball coach John Calipari for pointing out that the referees that worked the basketball game called 19 fouls against his team.
Calipari made his comments after the basketball game so it is natural for the sports reporters who have coached in the college basketball level point fingers at Calipari for the behavior of a few rotten eggs in the meal.
If I were Calipari I would tell these talks show hosts on Fox Sports 1 and ESPN to them "If I told my fans to step in front of a moving train that is coming at them they would obey me over losing a tough basketball game."
I guess these talk show hosts who have jobs on the sports networks have never coached a college or pro basketball team and know the agony that Calipari is going through losing in the Elite Eight.
And then there are some Wordgirl fans who say I am overreacting to some of the lousy endings of her cartoon that ran of PBS Kids from 2007-2015.
Please humanoids my motto is like the late Al Davis who was the former general managing partner of the Oakland Raiders which is "Just win baby."

That is true. According to the late Tom Landry who used to be the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys he once said in an interview that the pursuit and chase of winning a Super Bowl motivated him to be a coach.

You don't understand University of Kentucky Wildcats worshippers' (as opposed to just fans) attitudes. I joked on my Facebook page after the game that at least the UK fans can shift their hatred from one North Carolina team (Duke, who, despite UK beating for the 1978 National Championship, is still loathed because of 1992) to another for the next 25 years.
And you're absolutely correct about fans here: if Calipari told them to jump off the Clark Memorial Bridge after a loss they'd be fishing bodies out of the Ohio River for a month because people would do it.
I typically say that I like UK, I just don't like their fans. So many of the basketball fans in this state act as if Kentucky should get an automatic berth to the Final Four, even if they're 0-32 in the year. Things like that serve to remind you that the word fan is a shortened form of fanatic.
