Colorado Rockies manager Bud Black has named 25 year old right handed starting pitcher Jon Gray as his Opening Day starting pitcher on Thursday.
Gray will be pitching against the Milwaukee Brewers on April 3, 2017 at Miller Park in Milwaukee Wisconsin.
Gray pitched in a minor league game on Wednesday in a rehabilitation assignment after he left his last start on March 24 due to soreness in his left foot.
Gray has been cleared to pitch for the medical staff of the Rockies on Thursday thus his selection to be the Opening Day starting pitcher for the National League West team today.

Gray could be the next big ace pitcher for the Rockies in the near future.
