This a song that has been covered by many people, but when searching the song The Dixie Cups is who comes up with the lyrics so that's who I will post as the singer. If you are still having some trouble placing the song, here's a couple lines from it: "My grandma and your grandma were Sit-tin' by the fire. - My grandma told Your grandma "I'm gonna set your flag on fire." This is a song that just about everyone knows (at least in the states), but were you aware of the orgins of the song? It is a song that describes the exchange between two conflicting Native American Tribes and the ensuing traditional confrontation.

No, I did not know that. I assumed it was from AfroAmerican lore for some reason. I remember that song a long time ago when I was a child. They also did Chapel of Love.
