Chameleon effect....do you know that?

This is an act of doing the same thing when we see others doing. This is observed in the case of yawning.
In a group if a person yawns, everyone in the room starts one by one as if there is no escape but to yawn.
There are many theories developed to explain the possible reason for yawning by human beings. Psychologists say that it is due to Chameleon effect. This is an unconscious activity of brain cells to do the same things as your neighbor do.

Interesting, I learned it if you are more familiar with the person, maybe closer to them you are more bound to have the contagious yawn than being around strangers. Because your brain sees that if your friend is tired, that you need to have oxygen in your brain so you do not get influenced that you are tired as well.
I don't know if that is true, that is just what I learn in high school psychology class haha!

yes. You are 100% right. But, scientists have not confirmed it.

Nice share. Sometimes i yawn when I see another yawning...but not always. I have to be tired to join in.

Thanks. Felicia Kane has rightly said in her comment. It depends on the intimacy you got with the person on the other side.

This is the reason why drivers don't allow the passenger on the side seat to sleep.
