What is the difference between the Catholic Church and the Protestant Church?

The first response is right but I should also add that the Catholic church believe that men need an intercession between themselves and God and therefore they talk to God only through priests. They pray to God, etc., but in order to be forgiven they must go to confession, accept penance from the priest (usually they have to say prayers), then the priest forgives them in God's name. Plus, they have saints that they pray to that are supposed to intercede on their behalf. Otherwise the two are basically alike.

You've forgotten to mention the Pope who tells the Catholics what to think and believe. Protestants have no Pope - and also no saints - and are responsible for themselves.

Don't the Catholics also almost deify Mary? Don't they consider her as an intercessor as well?

@Jon2071 Yes, they do. I think it would be awful to go through all the rigors of life only to die and find out you're responsible for the safety and happiness of millions of people that are going to be begging you for everything from a new dress for the prom to a cure for cancer.

@Jon2071 yes. Many will say 'this is right' or 'we are right' but check the fruits to see the truth
