Today is my college's mountain day of service. This day is where students, professors, staff members, and community members sign up for various volunteer tasks. We also get shirts every year if you volunteer and this year's shirts are burgundy and white. They are my favorite so far Every year me and a group of friends sign up to clean Elk River. We were surprised and happy that we didn't find a lot of trash this year so it didn't take us but an hour to clean what trash we could see and safely get too. Then the college holds big cookout/picnic on Tate lawn with food, music, games, etc. We had bbq this year with baked beans, corn on the cob, coleslaw, banana pudding, and cookies.
After cleaning the river I went and saw my friend's new baby hedgehogs and they are adorable. They are just little prickly balls. They are still nursing so they were licking and suckingly on my finger. My friend found out that she and her roommate were approved to live in the apartments next year and her cat was approved to be brought as well. We had a lovely hour tutoring session with a chem tutor and then went to another hour-long study session with our chem professor. Now we are going out to eat tonight to celebrate her good news and her baby hedgehogs.
I also meet my 12k step goal and other Fitbit goals for today all before 3 pm today.
