Do you know why is Whats App called Whats App?

The founders just took probably the most commonly used phrase for catching up with friends - "what's up?" and replaced the "up" with App. so basically, the name itself indicates that it is an app used for communicating with our friends.

yes, the app Whatsapp is indeed a pun to represent "what's up" especially considering the fact that you can update "whats up" about yourself. pretty funny and creative if you ask me :P
