WRONG For Illegitimate POTUS to Fill STOLEN SCOTUS Seat

Today the unthinkable happened, something that will touch all our lives or that of someone we love in one way or another at some time. Neil Gorsuch was confirmed to the Supreme Court, a lifetime appointment, for the seat that should have been filled over a year ago by President Obama's choice, Merrick Garland. Garland wasn't even given a hearing despite the fact that lawmakers from both parties had sung his praises in the past, because Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said "the people" should decide who got to fill the seat vacated by the unexpected passing of Justice Antonin Scalia. Apparently the people, the majority of the people and a truly huge Electoral College majority, who had voted for President Obama twice didn't count. It was said that no President had ever placed a SCOTUS Justice at that late date in his Presidency, that it shouldn't happen since the election campaign had already begun and that Vice President Biden had said three decades ago that this shouldn't happen but the TRUTH is this particular situation had never come up before. I agree it would be wrong for a sitting President in an election year to appoint a new Justice to replace one who had decided to retire since that would look like an attempt to pack the court. In other words, say Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg had announced she was going to retire early in 2016. That could certainly be seen as an insurance move to make sure a Democratic President could name her replacement just in case a Republican won the coming election. THAT'S the type of situation Biden was speaking of hypothetically. However, nobody had predicted that Justice Scalia would suddenly pass away. I was sad to learn of his passing despite disagreeing with virtually all of his opinions but his seat isn't "preserved" for an ultra-conservative despite what the Republicans have implied. Also, everyone now seems to have forgotten that some of the Republicans had said that if Hillary Clinton were elected they'd hold the seat open for her entire Presidency if they retained the majority in the Senate. NOW the Democrats are the villains for filibustering. To make matters so much worse we now have a person in the White House whose Presidency is very possibly...I'd say PROBABLY...illegitimate. So we'll have a Supreme Court Justice on the bench for possibly four decades or more in a stolen seat and put there by a so-called President who was put in the White House under false pretenses. Not to mention the fact that Gorsuch is a plagiarist! It was said by several people throughout this process that Gorsuch was the "best" choice the Democrats could hope for, that the others on Trump's list are more extremist in their views. Since he consistently rules against workers, women and minorities in favor of corporations and others in powerful positions I find that quite frightening. In his dissenting opinion he wrote that a man should have been fired since he chose not to kill himself or risk killing who knows how many innocent people when the brakes on his truck froze in sub-zero temperatures and he'd already waited hours for help to arrive. He finally abandoned his trailer and went to get warm after symptoms of hypothermia had set in. He returned after getting warm and nothing had happened to his trailer, by the way. Luckily the other judges, every one of them, ruled in his favor. He also ruled in the majority to give Hobby-Lobby the right to dictate what forms of birth control their employees or dependents could be covered for. Gorsuch is replacing Scalia who was very conservative so the make-up of the court won't really change right now but with the next vacancy it will be tilted far to the right and the big losers will be the American people.
