Wild Thing.....

Scarlet Red Poppy Growing Wild In Navarra.

Wild thing from where did you appear? Wild thing I found you right here Wild thing you are dancing away in the wind Wild thing you are like an umbrella turning inside out But you are strong and resistant and delicate Delicate wild thing and fragile but resistant to adversity itself About three days ago I was out walking and had been observing the growth of the flowers that have come and almost gone now. Its hard for them to grow and stay long as the weather has been quite adverse for them this year. But the one that has made it again. I found it here on the way to home. Its the only one blooming yet in this vast field that is around here. Wild thing is a Poppy getting blown inside out by the cold sharp icy winds of this Month. So I gladly took a photo of her to say that she is here.

when i was a child we would pick them and turn the peddles down and pretend they were little women dancing in their pretty dresses

@bunnybon7 That must have been real fun for you then. Are you an only child then? Did not know that and I thought you had Brothes and Sisters. I have mixed it up with someone else.

How original is that? You have a lot of imagination for sure. They would look like little Women dancing in their pretty dresses too you are right. Where I was born you did not see them as we lived in the City.

It is amazing the way flowers can weather the wind and rain and fearsome weather. That is why they are a thing of beauty to behold.

All of them are holding out well. I thought that they might all die off. But no a lot of them are still around thank goodness.

Usually poppies bloom around June in this part of the world. I saw the photo, and even before I read the discussion, I knew it was a poppy.

Its warmer here now and they will bloom more in about two or three weeks time and last till the middle of June or maybe longer. You will be able to enjoy them a little longer then.

Thank you this flower is an inspiration for me. A lot of ill use of Pesticides around on these Fields and one year killed all the Poppies and other wild Species. But this year they are back that is why I mention tenacity and adversity.

@Mass_Sonu My wish is that they survive the harsh climate and grow strong and healthy as they are so lovely to look at.

She was the first flower out at that time. There are some more and I have taken various photos of them. In about two weeks there will be loads of them at least I hope there will be and with other wild flowers too like daisies and such. Lots of pesticides used there so its a miracle they even bloom.

All the other flowers that are starting to come out now make a good display with the Poppies. Will take another photo but when they are all in full bloom and see how well they merge with the Fields themselves.

Do they flower where you live or do you only see them in the Countryside? You must have lots of wonderful flowers too. Thank you too hope there are no more Earth tremors.
