Spotty At Best / myLot

Hi all. The missus and I are RVing this weekend at a remote campground in northeastern North Carolina. Cell and WiFi service are spotty at best here. For the moment I have a good signal, so thought I'd drop in and let y'all know I'm still here, just might not be able to be on much this weekend. I hope you're all having a great Saturday.

We didn't see Big Foot, but a Bald Eagle posed for us along side the road to the campground.

@DWDavis - We used to take our kids camping often when they were growing up. We don't camp much now, but some of our daughters still take their kids camping. Have fun!

Both my boys ran the gamut of Scouting, so we tent camped for years, and my wife and I did even before then. We loved it, but now we love our comforts.

@DWDavis - I was a Campfire leader and a Girl Scout leader when my girls were growing up, plus my husband liked to camp, so we did it quite a bit. However, like you, my husband and I enjoy our comforts these days. I can't see myself sleeping on the ground anytime soon! LOL

Oh, which campground are you at? I love camping along the coast in NC! I really wish that my family and I could take a summer vacation and trek up and down the coast camping and visit the numerous lighthouses! I hope you enjoy your weekend voyage.

I would love to see you do a series of discussions about having an RV and going on a trip in it. I'm very interested in getting one (retirement is in just five years for me!!!!) and would love to hear the realities -- pro and con -- from someone who's been on the road with one. Oh, and have a great time (or, given the spotty service, hope you had a great time)!!

We had a great time. I'll put some thought into doing a series of posts on our RVing experiences. So far, even with the couple of SNAFUs we've had, we are loving the life and can hardly wait to retire and become full-time RVers.
