Well if you actually think $5 is not a very huge sum. One spends much more than this amount very easily in a restaurant or in shopping or on just watching movies.
But when we are talking about the magical number $5 on mylot, its value increases manyfolds. Here every cent counts.
I am yet to achieve that number but I really feel that its worth will definately be more than just $5 for me.

Most people don't think $5 is a lot. In fact, if you offered $5 to someone here in the states if they wash your car they'd laugh at you and walk away. Even the beggars on street corners don't think it's much.
$5 is a lot to me! If I make $5 a month here I'll have put $60 in my savings account in a year. That $5 a month can go a long way if I don't save it (which I always do!!)--I can feed myself for a week on $5. I'd rather not, but I could. I could feed myself, my granddaughter and my DIL for 2 days on $5.
In fact, just the other day I only had $4 but my son's pregnant girlfriend was hungry. He is an addict and spends all their money. I took her to the store and for that $4 I got a quart of strawberries, 4 bananas, a loaf of bread, a jar of peanut butter, and a very small container of milk. She will eat for a week. Not well, but it will help.
So to all those who say $5 is nothing, you've obviously never known need. I'm glad, I hope you never do. But $5 can save a life. I'm glad that myLotter Wasjeeha Rumana and I are blessed to be able to appreciate these small amounts.

Absolutely. Although it is a small amount it can mean alot for a person who has nothing.
Have to confess that I am deeply touched by your response.
