Mom and I went to the thrift store yesterday. Some sweet boys were lost and asked me to help them find their Mommy. There was no employee around, so I asked a passerby to help them find their Mommy.
This experience once again reminded me that children are children and are sometimes curious about differences or challenges, but they are not stopped by them. My wheelchair did not hinder or scare the children from asking for my help.
No, it is adults who are hindered by and would be well served by beginning to acknowledge and overcome their own negative, discriminatory biases and stereotypes against someone who might be different from them in some way. We are all the same at heart.

Did they find their Mom in the end?
It must have been worrying for you as well knowing they were a bit lost.
Children are magic.
They see things so much differently to us.

Children are perfect and beautiful until we ruin them with our darkness and idiotic prejudices. I hope the kids are safe and that Mom will watch them better next time!
