Favorite 70's Rock Songs #8 - "Hypnotized"

It's time for #8 in my Favorite 70's Rock Songs series, inspired by the 70's countdown by @TRBRocks420 awhile back. The eighth spot belongs to "Hypnotized" by Fleetwood Mac. Forming in London in 1967, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer's Fleetwood Mac have sold over 100 million albums worldwide. There are three different era's where Fleetwood Mac is concerned: the bluesy Peter Green (guitar) era, the Bob Welch (vocals/guitar) period, and the wildly successful Lindsay Buckingham (guitar/vocals) and Stevie Nicks (vocals) era. We are concerned with the Bob Welch era today, which lasted from 1971-1974. The band hired Welch virtually sight unseen; they did not play with him, nor did they listen to any of his recordings. Fleetwood Mac released five studio albums during this time period, after which Welch, weary from legal battles over the rights to the name "Fleetwood Mac" (another band was using the name and sued,) left for a solo career that included three Billboard Hot 100 Top 20 hits. From their 1973 album, Mystery to Me, "Hypnotized" was released as the B-Side to the single "For Your Love." "Hypnotized," however, received copious amounts of airplay on Album Oriented Rock FM radio, and is widely considered the best song on the album, and has been covered by The Pointer Sisters. This mellow, jazzy tune full of lyrics about dreaming and hypnosis, with some great Welch guitar, more than satisfies my need for groovy music, and is proof there was more to Fleetwood Mac than Lindsay and Stevie. Enjoy! (Info verified by Wikipedia)

Love this song. I've mentioned before how furious I am that "whomever" the guilty party/parties is/are decided to leave Bob Welch as the only Fleetwood Mac member NOT inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

@teamfreak16 -- that's what someone who's studied the history of FM more than I thinks.

Didn't you say Mick Fleetwood might be holding a grudge? Still messed up.

Funny you should choose that today. This song has been in my head for a few days now and I have no idea why. I didn't hear it anywhere, no one talked about it, I just woke up one morning last week with it playing in my head. At least it is an "ear worm" that I like. Thanks for the complete song, I'm listening now.
