So Many seminars, workshops, conferences and clinics are being held this summer. Sometimes it is fruitful but oftentimes it's boring. Boring because the speaker is boring, the topic is boring and you have known it already, the place is boring. How to deal with it? I don't know but sometimes I see some participants just playing apps game like candy crush or plants and zombies. Anyway, there is a faster way to understand all the topic, copy the presentation to your usb and that's it. When some groups invited you left us, you can use their PowerPoint.

It is enjoyable and interesting to attend a seminar with interesting topics and speakers. But I hate it if the speaker is not good in discussing the topic. As if he or she is just reading everything on the powerpoint presentation.

@ilocosboy It is very noticeable too if the speaker is not knowledgeable enough about the topic. If he stammers or not sure about the questions raised by the participants.

In some jobs we have no choice but to attend all of these because we have to... I don't play games but I use these times to plan, catch up with paper work or even to reflect or daydreaming...

@ilocosboy Just go, think of it as a chance for you to get away from work or a chance for you to sit down and relax... maybe it will be a good time for you to respond to emails/mails or even myLot comments...

@atoz1to10 ha ha, this is the best answer I got, and it's true, forget about the seminars and lectures, let's relax and enjoy the moment of a no pressure day.

Seminars depends on the topic and the speaker , so it won't be boring. The speaker should know how to make the topic interesting. He/ she should inject some exercises to motivate the listeners to listen well.

Speaking of exercise or breaking the ice, it was just so cute when the speaker tells you to stand and convince you to dance like a kinder.

It's so boring that all you want to do is lying in your room or snacks to come soon.

@ilocosboy And the power point presentations are mostly in graphs. That will make me sleep and I'm an insomniac.

That's true. Especially when I have to attend seminars and conferences I'm not personally willing to attend. If I am genuinely interested in the topic of the seminar, maybe it wouldn't be as boring. Otherwise I don't attend seminars often.
