If you were robbed at gunpoint and asked to give up your stuff, would you run away or just stay and give up your stuff?

I am pretty sure I would give up my stuff but it has never happened to me before. It is a pretty common occurrence here in Nicaragua so I think before I go out in public. I don't carry a purse or wear jewelry, especially if I am walking alone.

if you ever get robbed at gunpoint.. (doesn't work if your behind a counter) you should throw your purse or wallet and then run the opposite direction in a zig-zag type pattern.. it is true that they probably won't shoot but if they do.. their odds of hitting you are decreased while you're running and decreased even more so if you're not running in straight away down a road alley or bus station... I'm not an expert.. these are educated assumptions

Also if you combine the run with several jumps and crouching the likelyhood decreases further.

sounds a tad on the sarcastic side.. do you have a better idea? i can assure, that IS what is instructed .. go ask somebody that is in like self defense type field .. alot of women know this already.. sadly alot of men think that they've gotta play hero

Everyone is going to say I'd attack! It's easy to in words, chances are most who say they that will actually freeze. Me? I have no illusions, I don't know, I have no idea until it happens.

I have been robbed at gunpoint before. I just froze and was unable to do anything - and I was clinging to my handbag even though I knew I should jsut let it go. Luckily I came to, let go and am still alive to tell the story. It's definately best to just let go - stuff doesn't matter !
