Vacation time soon!!!! But....

United States

Me and my husband and our son usually try to make one trip to TN to visit my relatives at least once a year since my mom comes down quite a bit to see us. It's nice she comes down to visit him and us, but it can be so stressful because she is...her....not really wanting to get into it lol. Anyways, we are up for a vacation soon and I would personally rather take a cruise or do a stay-cation, but I know my mom would flip on me and I probably couldn't do that to my dad. It's a very long car ride with an almost 3 year old to and from. Ugh....decisions decisions....My husband would prefer not to go this time either so we are both on that same page, but I feel as though we HAVE to. *sigh* I do love the scenery of my home state, but where my mom lives, there is just so much driving involved to get anything or do anything exciting. I live in the city in FL, so I am used to everything being right there and convenient. I'll probably end up caving and going anyway lol.

I hope you can work something out that will give you a vacation, as well as keeping your Mom happy. (You know we are not all Americans on this site, so it would be helpful if you didn't just use initials. I expect FL is Florida, but TN? Tennessee?)

Oh I'm really sorry about that. FL is Florida and TN is Tennessee. Yes you are correct. I am sure we will figure out a way to make us all happy. :-)

Driving that long distance with 3 years old kid is really a great thing. One should keep everything well packed for the kid including the water and food.

It wasn't so bad the first time we did it. He's potty training now, so it may be a bit tougher the 2nd go around.
