Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton, 35, who had been in the Rangers minor league system rehabbing from an injury to his left knee, has been released by the team on Friday.
Hamilton recently injured his right knee which will require another operation which could in effect end his career in the Major Leagues.
Hamilton has been both admired and hated by Rangers fans since he once said the Dallas area was not a baseball town since the Dallas Cowboys dominate the landscape in the Dallas-Fort Worth sports scene.
Some Rangers will remember Hamilton for leading them to two World Series appearances even though the Rangers lost both of their World Series appearances to the St Louis Cardinals and the San Francisco Giants.

The erratic career is over. He made millions thanks to the insane foolish contract the Angels gave him.

Not to mention that Josh burned bridges by saying the Rangers are not the top draw in the Dallas Fort Worth area which ticked off a lot of Rangers fans would felt he was an ingrate.
