Which Sport Would You Choose?

There are many, many Olympic sports now. So many that I can’t count them. There used to be just a few sports in which to participate, but every year, it seems, new sports are added. Now, the list is very long. Have you ever thought about this? If you consider your skills that you already have, or skills that you would like to develop and you were young and healthy, in what Olympic sports event do you think you might be able to win a Gold medal? I think that I would have been a good volley ball player. We used to have a permanent volley ball court set up in our field, when we lived in the country. My husband and I taught our children how to play and the neighborhood children would come to our field and play all summer long and sometimes in the winter months too, if there were no snow on the ground. As a team we were unbeatable, but we didn’t always play as a team, so that others could win. That was many years ago, but that’s the sport I would have chosen. What about you?

I absolutely love volleyball and baseball, and I was always good at both when I played in high school. I miss being on a team and playing-best thing about school for me! =)

@IreneVincent Is your friend entering any competition? It is good to hear that he is back into cycling. Swimming is an excellent exercise. Glad to hear that your husband is a great swimmer.

@Nawsheen No, my friend just cycles for fun and exercise. I don't think he has entered any competitions.

I have a friend who is into cycling. Recently he wrecked and injured himself but he recovered and is back to cycling again. My husband was an excellent swimmer when he was younger. I truly believe he could have been a medal winner if he had had the opportunity, but he didn't.

I know how to swim but that's about it. Swimming was what my husband did when he was young. I was never any good at swimming and don't enjoy it very much.

@IreneVincent I am not doing it anymore. Since I am living in the mountainside, there is no swimming facilities available in the city.

Tennis seems so difficult to me. I have never had any upper body strength. And I think it takes a lot of strength just to serve the ball. I did enjoy playing badminton when I was younger and I could also play volleyball. But, tennis was not for me.

I would stick with cycling. I don't do go in for speed, I like the long haul and doing some touring from the bike

Yes, I know how much you like cycling. You've mentioned it before. Long distance cycling would not be something that I would choose, but I have some friends who are into cycling.

I have never really been a sports oriented kind of person but I have had fun with tennis two houses ago when we could walk to the court. Now, I don't even know where it might be!

The only thing I could do is run. So, I could try and practice to be a long distance runner.
