Day 230 Proverbs 21:15 Proverbs 21:15 It is joy to the just to do judgment: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity. 16 The man that wanders out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead. 17 He that loves pleasure shall be a poor man: he that loves wine and oil shall not be rich. 18 The wicked shall be a ransom for the righteous, and the transgressor for the upright. Everyone has an inner voice that keeps them in check. Whether you listen to your inner voice and do what is right or ignore it and do whatever you desire determines how you will fare in life. Every day you make decisions on the best course of action for your life. Solomon showed there are two courses of action. One brings joy the other destruction. He found that all those who followed the Law of Moses, determining to keep God foremost in their lives found joy, while those who ignored the law and lived life on their terms, headed for destruction and would always be indebted to those who followed the law. Does that mean you cannot have fun? No, not at all. God gives us times of refreshing, those times when you enjoy life to the full, when you take holidays and vacations from the daily work grind and enjoy the simple pleasures life offers. However, it is when you love those pleasures, living for the moment, without any regard to what comes next, that puts you on the path of destruction. The next pleasure impairs your judgment, and soon you find your funds dried up and your friends absent. As Christians, you are to seek first the kingdom of God and then God will give you the desires of your heart. Everything has balance. Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. (KJV) Psalm 37:3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. 4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. 5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. (KJV) God wants to bless you. He wants to give you the desires of your heart. He wants to see you happy and have fun in life, but not to the point it destroys your soul. When you put God first, you will have joy in your life. Let’s pray: Father, help me put you first, seeking your will for my life before I seek any earthly pleasures that would cause me guilt and shame, and put me on the path of destruction. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen. Copyright © 27 April 2017 by Valerie Routhieaux Image courtesy of Pixabay

I would too. Thank you. To God be the glory. It's going to take a while before I get to Proverbs 31. As you can see I'm already 230 days in Proverbs and still have a long ways to go.

@MsBooklover Good. I'm glad you are. When I started into Proverbs I knew it was going to be a lengthy study, but with God's help I'm getting it done. And leaning a lot myself.
