Do You Like 3-D Movies?

I went to see “Avatar” a few years ago, in 3-D and I didn’t like it at all. First of all, we sat too close to the screen. Secondly, the volume was way too loud, as usual. And at times, I had to close my eyes because it was making me dizzy. I have no desire to ever see another 3-D movie again. I remember seeing 3-D movies when I was young and don’t remember getting dizzy. There was a movie called “Bwana Devil” way back in 1952 that was shot in 3-D. Some people in the theater started screaming because it looked like the spears were coming right at them. Theaters back in the 50s were having a difficult time competing with TV and they had hoped that the 3-D movies would succeed. The problem for me was that most of them were “horror” movies or science fiction and I wouldn’t go see any of them. I still don’t care for that kind of movie or TV program. There were other movies from that era that I remember. “House of Wax” “It Came From Outer Space” and “The Creature From The Black Lagoon.” By the middle 50s, the 3-D movie fad was over. Alfred Hitchcock was one of the 3-D movie directors. His movie “Dial M For Murder” came out in 1954 in both 3-D and regular flat format. Most people opted for the flat version. If you were around in the early 50s, do you remember going to a 3-D movie back then?

Despite how long the technology has existed, I have never seen any film in 3D.

Wow! I don't like 3-D movies at all, but I have seen a few. You should try to see one, just so you can say you have!

I've never been to see a 3D movie, but with these IMAX's I think I should really give it a try. Just a little worried if my eyes will suffer or even the little brain box
