My MiL looks after Toddler Niece all day on both Monday and Friday during term time. As Long Time Lurkers may remember, I spend every Friday with them. It's my favourite day of the week, until Saturday, when I get to lie in.
This morning MiL told me that when she was saying goodbye on Monday and said, See you on Friday! Toddler Niece responded with, And Auntie Elizabeth! She's my friend!
How sweet is that? It made my heart melt, just a little.
It's so adorable, I'm going to have to repeat it again ... just to get that wonderfully warm feeling that comes with knowing a two year old likes you so much they consider you a friend. It's got to be akin to I love you, surely?
She's my friend!
*contented sigh*

Lolz. No Dreamies are required when one is blessed with the charming personality of Makka Pakka and the humour of Upsy Daisy. :)

@Poppylicious I am reminded of the time my friend who now lives in Australia brought her 11 year old daughter to visit. The girl had been a horrible kid as a toddler but turned into a really nice girl when she was older. After spending hours in the park and painting her toe nails, she turned to me and said "My mum was wrong. She said you were rubbish with kids but you're not. You're great!"
Cue one embarrassed mum and one proud 'mum's friend'.

Toddlers come out with such loveliness as they learn new words. :)
