I just wonder when will the sports media learn that some athletes are human beings and they make mistakes in judgement when they are playing college football.
Case in point is former Oklahoma Sooners running back Joe Mixon, 20, was drafted as the 48th player in the 2017 National Football League Draft this week by the Cincinnati Bengals.
Is it a coincidence or sheer luck that Mixon who was caught on video tape hitting a female student in her face with his fist when he was attending school at Oklahoma was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals who have a reputation of not having saints on their football team.
Mixon has stated he is sorry for what he did in college and then he will turn over a new leaf playing football for the Cincinnati Bengals who are giving him a chance to earn a living in the National Football League.
Come on sports media, no one is perfect. We are pardoned. Now give Joe Mixon a chance to play professional football this year.
If I were Mixon and a reporter asked me about that terrible incident in college, I would answer the words of the late French actor Andre Bourvil from the French comedy movie that was directed by the late Gerard Oury called "The Brain." which came out in 1969 which is "Trying to forget it."

Unless he is convicted of a crime or seems to continue such acts, he cannot be denied employment no matter how much we may disapprove of his character. This is coming from the media supporting a certain President from Arkansas with a very dubious history in treating women.
