Harnaam Kaur suffers from Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (aka PCOS) and after years of trying everything possible to get rid of her facial hair, she finally was able to embrace it and has since become the first bearded female model to walk the runway. She's challenging beauty norms and teaching women to be comfortable in their own skins by embracing their own unique beauties. This is an important message for women such as myself to see -- I also suffer from PCOS, though I can say without a doubt I'm not nearly as brave as she is! Societal standards of beauty are often negative in that they're not ideal goals. Women need not be a slender size 3 with long, flowing thick locks and perfectly applied makeup. It's time such unrealistic expectations be done away with. Superficiality is such an ugly shade on humanity.

I agree that woman should be comfortable in their own skins by embracing their own unique beauties. But concerning models it is strange to have career opportunity with such visible physical defect.

Exactly, and that's what makes it special! If more women did this, it'd soon become the norm. :)

I read about this model in a magazine. What you said st right, people these days are more into societal standards about what others think , that's so sick

She's still lovely despite the beard and mustache!
