I remember someone describing them as sinister. I remember laughing. They were never sinister or ever will be sinister. I guess this goes back to the time when metal was supposed to be devils music and punk as the evil music that encouraged them.
I mean "wicked," such and evil sounding word, unless you put it like this. I know, a Rancid song!? Well, until someone can teach me better than this now. Another Rancid song.
People like to make stuff up, but Rancid not so punk rock now we know they not as sinister as we thought. BS, was not about sinister, but calling it how they see it. The fans made them the devils spawn.
They were just trying to improve their world and take a few people with them. While calling out the hypocrites. I never really understood the complexity of it all. Most of that has to do with just not trying to hear what they have to say.
I will also say I cannot help this because every modern day punk song leads back to this band. Hey, I am not complaining, For, one of the few bands that either teach me every time or make me remember what they taught me. A freaking schooling happens ever time. Not in a egotistical way, not in a I own this street way, but dude, I am trying to help you way.

the only wicked thing to do is to force others to listen to music they hate.
I think that will work to deter crime.
Find out the music that will drive someone crazy, and then lock him in the cell, and then play the music 24 hours a day.
It sure is a torture.
So a classical music lover will have rancid music.
A punk song lover will have classical music!
I bet after 36 hours of nonstop music, they will not ever want to commit crime again!

@scheng1 Wow , say what you feel, cool with that, we probably come from different worlds and all and nice to see some push back for once. Hard to take your comments serious though, as you probably did what I did when I first heard them. These guys are poets.

@crossbones27 Actually it is not a new form of torture.
Communist countries have used it for years. They play all sorts of political propaganda to weaken the resolve of the missionaries, on top of using physical torture.

I like when people get it, Not about the cosmetics to a degree, but what makes us get done what needs to be done. I get so mad when people want everything pretty. Life just is not pretty but can be if you let take place what needs to take place. You can join it and be apart or you can say I could of made it prettier while doing nothing or hindering it. People amaze me every day and most on the part of they did not try but criticized.
