Laptop mouse freeze

Mylotters, remember I've told you last fall about my computer issues, ever since I had accidentally had a water spill and that had killed my laptop keyboard... all except my power button and my mouse. When I've been having on again and off again issues with my trackpad and mouse lately. Ever once in awhile, it freezes, disappears or both. It's a pain in a butt and annoying as hell. I tend to mouse the trackpad around, push any button on the keyboard, and then if all else fails, hit the power button or space button for it to reappear. I did look into it online this weekend and restarting is one of the things to do if it freezes, disappears or both. But that would take up a lot of wasted computer time to reboot and then go online. I might have to do it as a last resort. It also said to go to preferences, which I had done last night, after another mouse freeze, and increased the accessability of my cursor. Although it did make it larger, the same applies for the annoying non-responsive rainbow spinning ball that I do hate.I'm going to see how this goes and hopes it would prevent future freezes or disappearing acts. When push comes to shove, I might have to opt to an external mouse real soon. Have you had any mouse issues with your laptop lately? And have you ever had a mouse disappear/freeze or both on you? If so, how did you fix it?

@KristenH I have seen to many ruin a computer by those things...besides, if I'm hungry or thirsty then I have to WALK to another room, which gets me up and moving.

@AbbyGreenhill Good thinking. I tend to eat lunch/supper in my mini dining room.

You can get computers quite inexpensively at Amazon or Ebay. Maybe it is time for a new one. I had like a tiny bit of water or maybe it was coffee spill on this one time and it killed the whole keyboard!!! It had to go in for repairs. Fortunately, my friend was nice enough to lend me one! Now I have the chrome book as my back up and should I really get in bad straits I can use the thinkpad that needs a battery.

I'll keep it in mind. I'm trying to save money for one with my Upwork savings for repairs or replacement. But I'll opt for a new optical mouse though. Oh no! I do have an external keyboard my brother gave me last year to use. Oh dear.

That's what I'm thinking to do in the future. I'll give it a month and then see what happens.
