The Chuck Wepner movie comes out in theaters on May 26

I just love the self righteous news media claiming that former boxer Chuck Wepner is the real Rocky Balboa.
Wepner was engaged in a boxing match against the late Muhammad Ali in 1975. Wepner lost the bout to Ali be technical knockout in the fifteen round of that championship fight.
Okay I have had to tell those plebeians that maybe actor Sylvester Stallone who watched that boxing match between Wepner and Ali was inspired to create the legendary fictional boxer that made him an action adventure movie star. What about it?
The movie "Chuck" is scheduled to be in theaters nationwide on May 26, 2017. Actor Liev Schreiber will play the role of Chuck Wepner.
Oh by the way if the average boxing fan does not know Chuck Wepner is, do not feel bad.
I know many teenagers who know who Supergirl is but not D C Comics heroine Power Girl and Scholastic heroine Wordgirl is either.
Good luck to the movie "Chuck" getting the recognition that the Rocky Balboa movie franchises have become.
And just for the record, I did see the first "Rocky" movie at a theater in Balboa Panama that was named the Balboa Theater in 1976.
The Balboa Theater is now named Teatro Balboa and they do Broadway type shows instead of motion pictures after 1999.

I think Sylvester created Rocky Balboa since he admires the late boxer Rocky Marciano in his movies that he wrote and directed.

@TiarasOceanView I mean Panama Squirrel is because I was born and raised in Panama from 1961-1978 and I like to learn about history. Squirrel is from the nickname of U S gymnast Gabby Douglas who is nicknamed The Flying Squirrel.

Chuck Wepner is the inspiration of the Rocky Balboa character like the Wonder Twins of Super Friends fame are the inspiration for my original characters Donna and Debi Isthmus alias The Bad Girls Of The Isthmus.

@Deepizzaguy Well pretty sure Sylvester Stallone has said in interviews he got the inspiration from watching a Chuck Wepner boxing match, he is pretty well known in the boxing world even if he is far from one of the great people have heard the name.
