Spell Check isn't working properly, HELP!?

For some reason, the spell check is marking words that are in fact correctly spelled, as mispelled. A lot of my words are underlined in red while I am typing.
For example: The following words above are all underlined in red, indicating they are mispelled - "is", "that", "in fact", "my", and "in".
These words are NOT mispelled! Why is my spell checker going crazy? How can I fix this?
I am on an Android tablet with attachable keyboard.

I kind of need the spell check because I don't know how to spell some words.

The spell check follows a defined dictionary...Colours is wrong for it but right for me

But my spell check is saying simple words like "is" isn't correct. It just started today, it has been working just fine.

See, if my spell check was working properly I would have known that! 
But most of the other words it is saying is misspelled really isn't, such as simple words like "is".

@boiboing Well, it has been working fine up until now. I haven't changed any settings or anything. Also, it says it is English US when I go into the settings.
It never happens with me.
