What Can A Person Learn From Archaeology?

I have been researching some information about what archaeologists have found concerning Biblical accounts. Most of these discoveries are not well-known by people in general. I do wonder why that is so.
But, I suppose it’s because of the many Bible critics among archaeologists. When they find something that substantiates what the Bible says, they don’t want to tell the world, perhaps. Especially, if they have published their criticism for people to read before the proof was found. Just saying.
One area that was particularly interesting to me concerned Babylon. Almost everyone has heard of the Towel of Babel, that was mentioned in the book of Genesis. Nimrod, “made the start of becoming a mighty one in the earth…in opposition to Jehovah.” Genesis 10:8,9
Genesis 11:2 says that “all the earth continued to be of one language and of one set of words.” Verse 4 says: “They now said: ‘Come on. Let us build a tower with its top in the heavens…” And then God confused their language and scattered them all over the earth.
The archaeologists excavating around the ancient city of Babylon have revealed the sites of several ziggurats or temple-towers. Records and inscriptions found concerning such temples often contain the words. “Its top shall reach the heavens” and King Nebuchadnezzar is recorded as saying “I raised the summit of the Tower…so that its top rivaled the heavens.”
One fragment found N of the temple of Marduk in Babylon related the fall of such a ziggurat in these words. “The building of this temple offended the gods. In a night they threw down what they had built. They scattered them abroad and made strange their speech. The progress they impeded.” (Bible and Spade, by S.L. Caiger, 1938, page 29.)
Abundant evidence has been found of Babylon’s pantheon of gods, including the chief god, Marduk, commonly referred to later as Bel. And the god, Nebo, both mentioned at Isaiah 4:1,2
Say what you will, archaeology is proving the Bible critics wrong on every count. No discovery as of yet has proved the Bible wrong. I will share some other things in another post.

To teach us about history, I'm sure there's a lot more discoveries to come with the latest technology available.

Yes, I think you are right about that. I enjoy watching documentaries about archaeological discoveries.

All our modern designs and architectural beauties are the by-products of Archaeological excavations only. Still, there are certain things which our scientists could not understand relating to superstructures, secrets, planning a systematic society, dwelling houses, water tanks etc which our ancestors followed.

Yes, the excavations continue to be done in many ancient sites in the world and archaeologists are finding many things that confirm Bible history. But no one has yet to find anything that proves the Bible wrong.
