Holy Moo Juice Two, Batman!

Last month I wrote in my post, “Holy Moo Juice, Batman,” about the price of milk jumping from $3.96 to $5.19 for two gallons at Costco. I have another “Holy moo juice, Batman” to report.
What has happened to the price of milk at Costco? Well, I don’t understand it. Today milk was $3.96 for two gallons. But this time I was at the north Spokane Costco instead of the east Spokane Costco. So I asked about it. The guy I talked to didn’t have a clue why the price difference. He thought maybe the shipping cost. But that’s crazy. There is only about ten miles (16 km) between the two stores. Then the guy thought maybe the other store had made a mistake on the price. I told the guy I will to check in on the price at the other store sometime this month.
I don’t know if I’ll ever get to the bottom of it but if it is still higher at the east Costco I’ll ask there and see if I can get an answer.
Right now my eyes are going around in circles so I can’t see to write any more.

Thats crazy. Its about $4 here for one gallon..
Although our gas prices are like that. One will be say $2.35 but another if the same brand in another town over will be $2.25 or $2.50. So weird

Yes, gas prices bounce around. When I worked in a gas station the price was set by the gas company and not the station owner. The owner would call in every morning and was told what price to sell the gas for. But that was a good 40 years ago so I'm not sure it that is still the way it's done. But milk prices usually do not jump around like that.

@Courtlynn Yes, but I haven't seen them take a jump like this in just a matter of weeks. It was $3.79 4 months ago then it went up to $3.96 2 months ago then $5.19 last month. I don't think I have ever seen milk take that high of a jump in a month before. Maybe the store manager had to pay for his maryjane habit (ok, don't take that seriously, even though it is legal here, I'm only joking).

That is odd that two Costco stores in the same city have different prices. It must be an error.

@JamesHxstatic My brother said he has been buying it at a local grocery store for $2.59 a gallon. I was in a Safeway store about a week ago and a woman was buying milk. I asked her what the price was and she said it was on sale for $1.99.

I have to wonder too if it was possibly human error . . . but I would think others would have complained about the price jump too. Maybe you could get some money back if it was indeed an error? Yah, the shipping cost idea wouldn't make sense. Hope Batman finds out about the moo juice

@RichardMeister Did you find any other big price difference there?

@much2say No. I looked over some receipts from both stores and the things I bought from both stores were the exact same price.

That is just a lot for a milk..I'd probably settle with veggies then since it's got the same vitamins as the milk.

I was raised on a dairy farm. I'm addicted to the stuff.

Weird but true: when I was stationed in Hawaii, milk from the island was $3.00 a gallon. Milk brought over from California (3,000+ mile airplane flight) was $1.59. It may sound strange but don't discount the notion of different parts of town having different prices.
Is the part of town where the milk was more expensive a "rich" part of town?

The thing is milk was never higher at the east store than at the north store before. And, no, the more expensive milk is not in a "rich" part of town. That would be the south side known as the South Hill. That's where the richy rich live. I've shopped both stores over the years (a couple of weeks at one then a couple of weeks at the other depending on what part of town I was in) and I've never notice things costing more at one store than the other expect this milk.
